As Îá°®³Ô¹Ï continues to celebrate 100 years of music, come and enjoy an evening performance by the University’s Symphony Chorus and Orchestra on Saturday 27 November in Prichard-Jones Hall.
The performance will be led by Director of University Music Gwyn L Williams with Chris Atherton as orchestral leader, and Martin Brown on the organ. Mared Emlyn, a Bangor graduate who completed a doctorate in performance on the harp and composition in 2014  and winner of the Urdd National Eisteddfod’s Chief Composition medal for her work Perlau yn y Glaw for solo harp will perform, together with renowned violinist Mary Hofman.
The Symphony Orchestra and Chorus are also delighted to be joined by Soprano Catrin Hedges, and Baritone Celt John.
From Dolgellau, with his family hailing originally from Pontarddulais, Celt John is in his third year at Îá°®³Ô¹Ï studying Music and Welsh. He will be singing the baritone solo from the Requiem by Fauré.

After studying her undergraduate degree at Bangor, Catrin Hedges studied a Master’s degree in performance. Originally from Swansea, Catrin continues to study towards a PGCE teaching qualification at Bangor. She will be singing the soprano solo Pie Jesu in the Requiem by Fauré.Â
Gwyn L Williams said, “The programme features works reflecting on the tensions between the sacred and the profane, a theme which has for centuries fuelled imaginative and extraordinary art. Come and enjoy a wonderful evening of music showcasing the musical talent we have here at Îá°®³Ô¹Ï in the splendid Prichard-Jones Hall.â€
